Effective date: October 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit WhatTrendz (whattrendz.com, the “site”), how it is used, and the choices you have. We keep this simple: the site has no user accounts, no comments, no newsletter sign-up and no forms, so we do not ask you for personal information.
Information collected automatically
Server log data
Like most websites, our web server automatically records basic technical information when a page is requested: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser and device type (user agent). We use these logs to keep the site running, secure and free of abuse, and to troubleshoot problems. We do not use them to identify individual visitors.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website or a third party stores in your browser. WhatTrendz itself does not set cookies to identify you. The third-party services described below (Google Analytics and Google AdSense) may set and read cookies and use similar technologies, such as device identifiers, when you visit the site.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how the site is used, for example which articles are read, how visitors arrive at the site, and what kind of device and browser they use, in aggregate. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser details, and referring sites. We use these reports only to improve the site.
You can learn more in Google’s explanation of how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising and Google AdSense
WhatTrendz may display advertising served by Google AdSense. Here is how advertising cookies work on this site:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
- If you opt out, you may still see ads, but they will not be personalized based on your browsing.
Third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads on the site and use their own cookies. Their use of information is governed by their own privacy policies. For more detail on how Google collects and uses data when you use sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
How we use information
We use the limited information described above to operate, maintain and secure the site, to understand which content is useful, and to support the site through advertising. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not collect names, email addresses or other contact details through the site. If you email us, we use your message and address only to respond to you.
Links to other websites
Our articles link to news organizations and other third-party websites, which we list as sources. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites. Please review their privacy policies.
Children’s privacy
WhatTrendz is a general-audience news site and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your US state privacy rights (including California)
Depending on where you live, laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA, as amended by the CPRA) and similar laws in other US states may give you rights over your personal information. These can include the right to:
- Know and access the personal information collected about you;
- Delete personal information;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, including for targeted (cross-context behavioral) advertising; and
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
Because the site collects very little personal information directly, most data relevant to these rights is held by Google as described above. You can limit ad personalization through Google’s Ads Settings and www.aboutads.info, clear or block cookies in your browser, or use a browser setting such as Global Privacy Control. To make a request about information we hold, contact us. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
Data security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect the site and its server. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for the purposes above. Data collected by Google Analytics and Google AdSense is retained according to Google’s own policies and settings.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page.
