During the 3rd Hour of TODAY on Oct. 28, co-host Craig Melvin paused the show to compliment Dreyer’s look, according to TODAY.

“Before we do anything else, I think we should take a moment and acknowledge Dylan Dreyer’s new haircut,” Melvin said.

Dreyer started laughing and set the record straight. “Guys, I parted my hair in the middle!” she replied.

Melvin wasn’t fully convinced. According to E! News, he said the whole studio had reacted the same way: “You came in and everyone in the studio said, ‘Dylan! Oh my god, your hair, it’s amazing.’ It’s a great look. I like it.”

The change was all about placement. Dreyer explained that her hair is usually parted on the right side and she simply “went over two inches,” TODAY reported.

“It’s normally parted here and I went over two inches. I’m a whole new person!” she said, according to E! News.

TODAY credited the look to hairstylist Kim Russo. There was no cut and, based on the reports, no color change either. Just a new part.

When NBC’s Savannah Sellers joined the group for the next segment, she playfully teased Melvin: “By the way, (Dylan’s) done this before,” TODAY reported.

The segment also landed as Dreyer’s personal life has drawn attention. E! News reported that she recently finalized her divorce from Brian Fichera, with whom she shares three sons, Calvin, Ollie and Rusty, after 12 years of marriage. The couple announced their separation in July 2025.

Speaking on TODAY last November, Dreyer described the decision as freeing for both of them and said they had chosen to move forward as friends while putting their children first, according to E! News.
