EDP445 Arrested in Las Vegas, Faces Four Felony Charges in Kern County, Prosecutors Say
Former YouTuber EDP445 was arrested in Las Vegas on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2026, and faces four felony charges in Kern County, California, the Kern County District Attorney’s Office said. The charges are tied to an alleged 2021 incident in Bakersfield involving a child under 14.
Prosecutors said the case was reopened after statements EDP445 made in a recent documentary. The charges are allegations; he has not been convicted, and an arraignment has not yet been scheduled.
Who is EDP445?
EDP445 is the online name of Bryant Turhanemmerson Moreland, a former YouTuber, according to the Kern County DA’s office as reported by KBAK/KBFX. KGET spelled his name as Bryant Turhan Emmerson Moreland, citing court records.
What is EDP445 charged with?
According to the DA’s office, a criminal complaint was filed on Nov. 2, 2026, with four felony counts:
- Attempt to commit lewd acts upon a child
- Meeting a minor for lewd purposes
- Contacting a minor with intent to commit a sexual offense
- Distributing or showing pornography to a minor
The DA’s office said the charges stem from an alleged incident on April 17, 2021, involving a child under 14 years old. KGET, citing prosecutors, reported that the case centers on an alleged attempt to meet a 13-year-old girl at an apartment complex in east Bakersfield.
Why was the case reopened?
Prosecutors said they reviewed the incident in 2021 and 2022 but faced “significant challenges in pursuing prosecution, particularly due to the lack of cooperation from the reporting parties.”
The investigation was reopened after the release of the documentary “The Sick Mind of EDP445,” the DA’s office said. “In light of recent statements made by Moreland in the documentary, the Kern County District Attorney’s Office and the Kern County Sheriff’s Office reopened the investigation,” the office said in a statement. “Following its review of the new evidence, the District Attorney’s Office determined that the evidentiary threshold for filing criminal charges had been met.”
TMZ reported that the documentary includes an interview with journalist Chris Hansen, recorded for Hansen’s “Have a Seat” podcast in August. According to TMZ, the documentary details a 2021 sting set up by online creators, in which the person who arrived at the meeting was an adult YouTuber rather than a minor.
The arrest in Las Vegas
The DA’s office said Moreland was found and taken into custody in Las Vegas on Nov. 4 with help from the Las Vegas Police Department. He is expected to be extradited to Kern County.
TMZ reported that YouTuber JiDion, one of the creators involved in the original sting, shared video of the arrest outside a dialysis center, with several officers at the scene. That account has not been confirmed by authorities.
What happens next
- Extradition: Moreland is to be transported from Nevada to Kern County.
- Arraignment: The DA’s office said an arraignment hearing will be scheduled after his extradition.
- Plea and attorney: No plea had been reported, and it was not clear from the reporting we reviewed whether he has a lawyer who could comment.
Like anyone charged with a crime, Moreland is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
