Jen Affleck Files for Divorce From Zac Affleck While Pregnant With Their Fourth Child
“The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Jen Affleck has filed for divorce from her husband, Zac Affleck, after seven years of marriage. The split comes while she is pregnant with the couple’s fourth child and about a week before her new Hulu spinoff premieres.
Jennifer Affleck, 27, filed a petition for divorce in a Utah court on Tuesday, Nov. 3, according to records obtained by USA Today. TMZ was first to report the news, Variety noted.
What the divorce filing says
According to USA Today, Jen Affleck also submitted a proposed parenting plan for the couple’s three children:
- Nora, 4
- Luca, 3
- Penelope, 15 months
The reporting we reviewed does not describe a stated reason for the divorce or the terms of the proposed parenting plan. USA Today said it had reached out to representatives for both Jen and Zac Affleck for comment.
Jen Affleck is pregnant with baby No. 4
Jen announced her fourth pregnancy in June, less than a year after their youngest was born, USA Today reported. In August, she told People she had experienced prenatal depression and a difficult start to the pregnancy.
“I could not be there for my kids, and so Zac really had to show up,” she said then. “There’s a lot that we’ve been navigating behind closed doors. … I do have to say, I wouldn’t have survived the first trimester without him.”
“It’s been a lot the past couple of months, I’ll be honest,” she added. “But I do feel like I’m seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and just trying to count my blessings every single day.”
Jen and Zac Affleck’s relationship on TV
The couple met in 2018 and got engaged and married the following year, Variety reported. Their marriage has played out on camera since “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” debuted on Hulu in 2024, following a group of Utah influencers known as #MomTok.
- Season 1: Their marital troubles were on display. Variety recalled a now-infamous fight during a cast trip to Las Vegas, when Jen considered attending a Chippendales show and Zac threatened to divorce her. The pair later separated.
- Reconciliation: The series followed Jen through the split and the couple’s eventual reunion. In February 2025, she revealed she was pregnant with their third child.
- Money issues: Jen has been vocal about Zac’s issues with gambling over the show’s run, according to Variety.
- Move to California: After their third child was born, the family relocated to Los Angeles, where Jen competed on Season 34 of “Dancing with the Stars.” She was eliminated in Week 7 and later confirmed a permanent move to Southern California, USA Today reported.
“Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County” premieres Nov. 12
Jen stars in the upcoming spinoff, “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County,” which premieres Nov. 12 on Hulu. USA Today said the show will look at her marriage as the couple settles into a new state and prepares for another baby, so viewers may see the lead-up to the split on screen.
Jen has appeared across all five seasons of the original series, alongside cast members including Taylor Frankie Paul, Whitney Leavitt, Mayci Neeley, Mikayla Matthews and Jessi Draper, Variety reported. Paul, Matthews and Leavitt have since left the show.
