How Portland pulled away

Booker’s scare and Phoenix’s defense
Late in the third quarter, with Phoenix down 18, Booker went to the locker room after Robert Williams III’s follow-through on a block attempt hit him in the face. Arizona Sports reported that he was holding his chest. Afterward, Booker said he wasn’t sure what had happened to him. He returned with under 10 minutes left but missed all three of his shots in his final seven minutes.
Defense is Phoenix’s biggest problem. Arizona Sports said the Suns entered with a league-worst defensive rating of 128.8 outside garbage time, and it got slightly worse after this game. “It’s been the same story the whole season,” Booker said. “We’ve done it good in spots, but we haven’t been able to put together 48 minutes.”
