SSI November 2026 payment: Why it arrives Oct. 30 and when the next checks come
If you receive Supplemental Security Income, your November 2026 payment won’t arrive in November. It goes out on Friday, Oct. 30, because Nov. 1 falls on a Sunday this year, according to the Social Security Administration’s schedule as reported by AL.com and News4JAX.
That calendar quirk means SSI recipients get two deposits in October (Oct. 1 and Oct. 30) and none in November. It’s not a bonus payment. The Oct. 30 money is November’s benefit, paid early, and it needs to cover the whole month.

Why is the SSI payment early?
SSI is normally paid on the first of each month. When the first falls on a weekend or federal holiday, the payment moves to the business day before, News4JAX explained. Nov. 1, 2026, is a Sunday, so the November payment shifts back to Friday, Oct. 30.
The same thing happens again at the end of the year. Jan. 1, 2027, is New Year’s Day, so January’s SSI payment arrives on Thursday, Dec. 31. That means two SSI deposits in December, on Dec. 1 and Dec. 31.
SSI payment dates for the rest of 2026

Social Security dates in November
Regular Social Security retirement, survivor and disability benefits follow a separate schedule. For November 2026, according to AL.com and News4JAX:
- Tuesday, Nov. 3: People who began receiving benefits before May 1997, and some people who receive both Social Security and SSI
- Tuesday, Nov. 10: Birthdays from the 1st to the 10th. This is one day early because Wednesday, Nov. 11, is Veterans Day.
- Wednesday, Nov. 18: Birthdays from the 11th to the 20th
- Wednesday, Nov. 25: Birthdays from the 21st to the 31st
How much is SSI, and when does the 2027 COLA start?
More than 7 million people receive SSI, which goes to low-income older adults, people with disabilities and people who are blind. The average payment is about $740 a month, AL.com reported.
The Social Security Administration announced a 3.6% cost-of-living adjustment for 2027 on Oct. 14, News4JAX reported. The maximum federal SSI payment will rise to $1,029 a month for an individual and $1,544 for an eligible couple. The higher amounts begin with the January 2027 payment, which for SSI arrives on Dec. 31. The Oct. 30 and Dec. 1 payments don’t include the increase. The SSA says personalized notices showing new amounts will be available in my Social Security accounts starting in late November.
What to do if your payment doesn’t arrive
