Julia Stiles and pro partner Ezra Sosa were eliminated on “Dancing With the Stars” Disney Night, which aired Monday, Nov. 2, on ABC and Disney+. Two couples earned perfect scores on a night of Disney on Broadway songs: Jenna Dewan with Val Chmerkovskiy, and Harry Shum Jr. with Jenna Johnson.

The episode moved to Monday this week because ABC is airing election coverage on Tuesday. Seven couples now remain in Season 35.

Who went home on Dancing With the Stars?

Stiles and Sosa, after a paso doble to “Satisfied” from “Hamilton.” TODAY reported that Stiles and Maura Higgins with Mark Ballas were the bottom two. The elimination is based on judges’ scores combined with viewer votes.

“It’s been an incredible experience. I pulled things out of myself that I didn’t realize were there,” Stiles said, getting emotional, per the News & Observer. “Ezra is just an amazing person. I’m going to be sad not to see him every day.”

TV Insider reported that Stiles had dealt with a flare-up of an earlier rib injury in rehearsals. Judges still liked the routine. “That is how you tell a story!” Bruno Tonioli said. Derek Hough told her, “a setback is just a setup for a comeback and tonight you delivered that.” The couple scored 33 out of 40, a 9 from Tonioli and 8s from the rest of the panel.

Team dances: Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough join in

Team dances returned, and both co-hosts danced:

  • Team Slaytopia (Ribeiro’s team): Captain Tatyana Ali, Maura Higgins, Julia Stiles and Amber Glenn danced to “Zoo” from “Zootopia 2.” 36/40.
  • Team Wildcats (Hough’s team): Captain Connor Wood, Ezra Frech, Jenna Dewan and Harry Shum Jr. danced to “We’re All In This Together” from “High School Musical.” 40/40.

Team scores were added to each member’s first-round total. TODAY reported that Team Wildcats won the night.

Jenna Dewan and Harry Shum Jr. lead the pack

Dewan’s “Be Our Guest” quickstep earned the night’s second perfect score. Shum got his second straight 40 after a perfect score on Horror Movie Night last week. “Honestly, the thing that I am really focused on is dance to express not to impress,” Shum said, per the News & Observer.

Because of their higher combined score over the season, Shum and Johnson earned immunity from next week’s dance-off, the News & Observer reported.

When is the next episode of Dancing With the Stars?

The show goes back to its usual slot, Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, according to the News & Observer. ABC hasn’t confirmed next week’s theme in the sources cited here.
