How the game was won
Minnesota jumped out to a 29-18 lead after one quarter, then let Milwaukee back in it. According to the Associated Press, the Timberwolves did not lead by double digits again until early in the fourth quarter.
That came on an 11-3 run to open the final period, started by six points from Jaden McDaniels, which pushed the lead to 91-79. Ball’s sixth 3-pointer midway through the quarter made it 96-81, and the Bucks never got close again.
It wasn’t a pretty night for Minnesota’s offense. The AP noted that the Timberwolves set season lows in points and shooting percentage (42.7%). Each of their four earlier wins had come by more than 20 points.

Ball was listed as questionable with a right wrist contusion, the AP reported, but he scored 13 of Minnesota’s first 17 points. His 24 first-half points matched his previous season high for a full game.
His third 3-pointer of the night made him the fastest player in NBA history to 1,000 career 3s. He reached the mark in 311 games, per the AP.
Ball finished 12-of-21 from the field and 6-of-13 from deep, with six rebounds and three assists, according to the box score.

Injuries: Edwards and Shannon out
