Kylie Kelce is once again drawing attention for her candid take on family life. In a viewer Q&A released as a bonus segment of her Not Gonna Lie podcast on Oct. 26, the 34-year-old podcaster explained the one rule she set with her and husband Jason Kelce’s parents after their daughters were born, and said everyone followed it.

The boundary: no kisses on the face

Asked whether she ever had to set boundaries with her parents or her in-laws when it came to the kids, Kylie paused briefly before answering.

“I asked people not to kiss her face or her head or her hands,” she said, according to People and E! News. “And everybody listened.”

She credited the grandparents, including Jason’s parents Ed and Donna Kelce, for understanding their role. “We have a good little squad. Squad understands the assignment,” she said, adding that the family is “very respectful about the fact that they have raised their grown children and that this is an opportunity for them to be fun, loving grandparents and supportive.”

Her verdict on how it all worked out: “We actually made out like thieves on this one.”

Stricter rules during the pandemic

Kylie said the family was more cautious with their oldest daughter, Wyatt, who was about 6 months old when the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

“Being the germaphobe that I am and also the unknown with a 6-month-old in your house, we locked it down pretty fast. We were very careful,” she said. “That was the time where we set boundaries just in terms of like travel and things like that.”

Beyond that period, she said, boundaries have not been much of an issue. “Everyone understands the assignment. So, we really lucked out.”

Meet the Kelce daughters

Jason and Kylie, who married in 2018, have four daughters:

Why she stopped showing her kids’ faces online

The podcast comment follows earlier remarks about another boundary, this one about social media. On Tay Lautner’s podcast The Squeeze earlier in October, Kylie said she “made it a point to stop putting their faces on my social media” as the family’s public profile grew, People and E! reported. The Kelces’ visibility has increased in recent years, including after Jason’s brother Travis Kelce began dating, and later married, Taylor Swift.

“I post infrequently overall, and I post even less frequently about our children,” she said. She described a “turning point” after the release of Jason’s documentary, when she realized some people “can’t draw a line for themselves,” so she decided to draw it clearly for them.

“I overall want to ensure my kids’ safety, and that’s always going to be the top priority,” she said. She also noted that her children will one day be able to look up everything that was said about them online, and she wants to be intentional about that.

E! News reported that while the girls might occasionally come up on a podcast, they won’t be part of sponsorships or put in the spotlight that way.
