Taylor Red's Nicole Taylor Dies at 35 After Breast Cancer, Triplet Sisters Announce
Nicole Taylor, one of the red-haired identical triplets in the country group Taylor Red, has died at 35, her sisters and bandmates Nika and Natalie Taylor announced. They said she died at her home in Nashville, Tennessee, on Sept. 28, after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022.
The sisters shared the news in a YouTube video that The Independent and Page Six reported on Tuesday, Nov. 3, more than a month after her death. A memorial page on the band’s website confirms the date and says the family has already held a private funeral.
What her sisters said
“This isn’t a video we ever thought we’d be making,” Natalie said in the video, as quoted by The Independent. “We thought she’d be here sharing her story of earthly healing. Instead, we’re sharing her story of heavenly healing and she’s at peace and no longer suffering, so we’re thankful for that.”
“We are still processing everything. This honestly feels really hard to talk about, but we’re going to do our best in sharing some of her story,” Natalie added, according to Page Six.
On the memorial page, the sisters wrote: “Nicole, the oldest of us three sisters, will be greatly missed. She was our leader and our best friend. We are heartbroken, but we know she is in Heaven and will see her again.”
Nika thanked fans for their prayers and thanked “the doctors and nurses who helped her along the way,” The Independent reported.
Her breast cancer diagnosis
The sisters said Nicole was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2022. Nika called it “very aggressive,” and they said it later progressed to stage 4. Page Six reported that the family got the news while out in a “public place.”
Natalie said Nicole kept a fearless attitude through treatment. “She pushed us all to have fun and not live in fear and hopelessness and she even did CrossFit during the time she was getting chemo treatments,” she said, according to Page Six. She also described Nicole finding peace after being prayed over at church soon after the diagnosis. “I think that’s what kept her so fierce during this time,” she added.
Her sisters called her the group’s “fearless leader.” They said the first instrument she learned was the drums, The Independent reported.
